In the late 1970's Ford updated the design of the Courier mid-sized pick-up in hopes to improve vehicle appearance and power for a thirsty audience. The square body, blocky, and angular design was consistent with a move toward these cues heading into the 1980's. The Courier was dependable, efficient by truck standards, and got the job done for the worker bee who required transportation, and hauling capability. JConcepts introduces the 1979 Ford to the small scale world with the new body shell not seen before in the crawler and scale truck scene.

The team from Groveland, Florida is not new to truck design, but the Courier was a different task. Laying out the mid-sized truck on the smallest platform in crawling, the 1/24th scale body looks proportionate on these fun little vehicles. Trucks such as the Axial SCX24 with 5.20" WB now has a lid that looks tough with a heavy retro vibe. JConcepts has applied plenty of touches to the Courier such as a rigid side body panels, extruded and arched wheel wells with blended rocker panels.

The single cab design carries recessed windows on the sides, along with front and rear windows to the compact body. The front-end clip slides right off the cab with care and cleanliness where the hood as a step bodyline and lowers to a flat format grille area for detailed and included decals. The bed area is open, recessed with plenty of space for body mounting, accessory placement, and scale cargo to reside. The rear tailgate has been retouched with recess for optional body mounting possibilities but includes plenty of detail for decal taillights, and Ford emblem.
